We have been using Informz for 6 or 7 years. We initially obtained it to conduct an electronic director election, which worked very well. We liked the fact that it seamlessly integrates with our AMS, iMIS but it took about a year or so before our Communications department embraced it, now we go thru our email blocks at a faster pace each year. Although I am not directly involved in the day-to-day, the feedback that I received was when we were in learning mode the Informz support was excellent. We use it for all of our direct email messages as well as our bi-weekly newsletters and other targeted communications. We have just begun to scratch the surface of using the statistics to refine our marketing, but we look at open rates for each mailing to see if there are topics that create upswings. It also has come in handy occasionally when a member claims that they did not get the message and we are able to document that they deleted the message without opening. We also use the bounce backs to continually fine tune our email lists. I hope that helps.
One question I would have for anyone in the future would be, as our younger members (students and residents) are less likely to use emails as their primary communications tool, what is next? An Informz for texting or some other app in the social media/communications world?
