American Society of Association Executives
Described as the "association for association executives," American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) is dedicated to enhancing the professionalism and competency of association executives, promoting excellence in association management, and increasing the effectiveness of associations to better serve members and society.
ASAE while not the largest of associations, is an important gateway to reaching the association community. The number of people who belong to associations represented by ASAE total 207 million. (Some people have more than one membership.)
ASAE is the only national organization serving the needs of association professionals through its extensive education and certification programs, publications, research and information, public policy and public relations activities, and member services.
With more than 25,000 individual members, ASAE is the largest organization of association executives and industry suppliers in the world. ASAE also serves as the international secretariat of the Global Forum of Association Executives, a global network representing national and regional organizations in 13 countries.
Types of members
There are two types of ASAE members: association executives and associates (suppliers). All members join professional-interest sections that relate to their job responsibilities. Sections include: association management company , chapter relations, communication, executive management, finance and administration. government relations, international, legal, marketing, meetings and expositions, membership, professional development, and technology.
