  • 1.  Hiring an Intern

    Posted 04-12-2017 12:46 PM

    Hi Folks:

We would like to hire an intern to help us with our membership directory and then to work on our convention.  Where does one find an intern?

We will pay of course and need them two days a week for now.  Thank you for any information.

You can always try the college. College students are looking for experience and something to put on a resume.

    Nick

I would highly recommend reaching out to Jodi Goldbeck at Madison Area Technical College at jgoldbeck@madisoncollege.edu or Carmen Smalley at Milwaukee Area Technical College at smallecm@matc.edu - as they both are involved in the Meeting and Event Management degrees and certificates and would have the appropriate connection for interns.

    Hi Nick,

We hire interns every summer and I post through a number of channels but the easiest way to get your posting in front of a lot of eyeballs is the UW-system.  You can post openings to 13 of the UW schools at one time.  Check out myinterfase.com/wisconsin/employer/home.aspx and you can create an account and post your openings there.  Hope that helps.

Greetings, Nick.  Have you checked with Madison Technical College? One place I have spoken to about interns is at the Morgridge Center for Public Service.  The latter is located in the Red Gym, https://morgridge.wisc.edu/community.

    Hi Nick -

We've hired Graphic Design and Social Media Interns before through UW Whitewater.  Perhaps that could work for you - or since you're in Madison you could check with the UW there - or Edgewood College.

    Good luck!
