    Hello,

ACEC WI is looking at our options for a virtual conference. We would like to host around 25 breakout sessions live but also offer the recordings as on-demand options. We will be charging for it. I'd like to know:

    1. If you have hosted a similar virtual event, did you charge per session or for the full slate?
    2. Did you use a specific company to produce the sessions?
    3. For the on-demand portion, how did you ensure that only people who paid were able to watch (so that they don't just take a link and send it to the rest of their company).

Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

Andrew, We are in a similar planning stage. We are charging for our virtual Symposium which provides a registrant access to all the live sessions and trade show. It also gives them one 'track' of pre-recorded sessions. The tracks are by subject area/job role specific, we are planning 4 separate tracks.

For production of the pre-recorded sessions, we are just doing it in house using either GoTo or Zoom.

For question #3, that's tough to control. I don't believe we have entirely figured it out yet but part of it is going to be the honor system.

    Hi Andrew,

We are helping several clients with virtual events.  Happy to talk through options.

    Thanks!

We are in the midst of our virtual conference this week. We have a lot of lessons we have learned and are learning that I would be happy to share with WSAE. We did hire a production company, we did charge, and we took a position that only registrants received credit towards their certification credits.  I can share much more.
