This talk will identify the qualities characterizing a healthy mind, such as optimism, resilience, and mindfulness. Based on the latest research, Dr. Kesebir will give practical tips to learn to better manage our thoughts and emotions, so that we can all live happier, more fulfilled lives.

What does the future of meetings look like?  Reducing the environmental impact of in-person, tackling the bandwidth issues of virtual, and successfully pulling off hybrid events, requires a multi-pronged approach beyond Ballrooms and Zoom.  During this dynamic panel discussion, we will take a gander through a meeting planner’s looking glass at the engagement and collaboration tactics that work post-covid.  Our panel experts will share their insights on how they navigate the new normal and what they see on the horizon in their own world.

While many of us groan about the thought of a governance overhaul, knowing how to avoid these common pitfalls will keep your association out of trouble and save you a lot of headaches down the road! Led by an association attorney with extensive experience advising associations on governance issues.

Associations come in all shapes and sizes, with different missions and purposes that they strive to advance. Some are set up mainly for advocating for industry interests within government, others don't want to touch lobbying activity with a ten foot pole. In this session we'll explore a variety of approaches to include lobbying activity as a benefit for your members.

Winning organizations market the problem, not just the solution. And members and prospects will believe that the organization BEST able to articulate their problem is the one best positioned to provide the best solution. So don’t fall in love with your solutions (your publications, conferences, education, advocacy efforts, etc.); rather, fall in love with the PROBLEM your association solves by making a U-Turn.

Sometimes in life, you just feel … stuck. When you’re stumped by a seemingly unsolvable challenge, sometimes all you need is a little nudge from an outsider with a fresh perspective, someone who points out the answer that was there the whole time. This presentation is that little nudge and great fit for organizations experiencing transition or in a season of intense change. You’ll learn how to recognize opportunities in road blocks and how to see dead ends as new beginnings.
