Preventing Sexual Harassment in the #MeToo Era

Ann Barry Hanneman & Geoffrey Trotier, von Briesen & Roper, S.C.
Preventing sexual harassment at your association requires more than having an updated policy in place. Ann and Geoff will help executive directors and key staff understand how to enforce their workplace culture and develop processes to prevent claims. They will also cover how to effectively address claims to minimize legal and operational vulnerabilities. This presentation will provide valuable insight and practical advice for associations, chamber and convention organizations, hospitality businesses and other providers to the association market.

Ann Barry Hanneman serves as legal counsel to management in labor and employment law matters. In addition to litigation, Ann’s practice includes advising on employment discrimination, handling sexual harassment complaints, drafting employee handbooks and developing policies. Ann is a member of the Labor and Employment Sections of the American Bar Association and the State Bar of Wisconsin and is a member of the Eastern District of Wisconsin Bar Association. In 2016, she was recognized as a “Woman in the Law” by the Wisconsin Law Journal.

Geoffrey Trotier proactively assists businesses of all sizes and complexities as well as municipalities and school districts in many diverse labor and employment issues. He works closely with clients to devise and implement litigation avoidance strategies. In 2010 Geoff was recognized as an “Up and Coming Lawyer” by the Wisconsin Law Journal. He is a member of the American Bar Association (Labor & Employment Section), the State Bar of Wisconsin (Labor & Employment Section) and the Milwaukee Bar Association.

Navigating Workplace Rapids
Greg Hawks, Owner/Instigator, Hawks Agency
Challenging and jolting experiences along with unexpected twists and turns makes navigating work exciting and exhausting. Change and disruption are constant companions on the river, as well as at work, making nimble employees and leaders more vital today than ever. Work is like a whitewater river trip!

Three consistent disrupters create rapids: pressure, obstacles and terrain change. Ironically, obstacles give individuals and organizations advantages. "I love obstacles" will be declared! Obstacles create adventures; obstacles create inspiration; obstacles create distinction. Every leader should consider this approach to guiding teams!

As a Corporate Culture Specialist, Greg brings an expansive leadership portfolio to your service. For two decades he has mentored leaders, developed teams, crafted culture and empowered employees. He is intensely motivated to grow high capacity talent who work, serve and sell with excellence, consistently. Compelled by the belief that individuals who Think, Act, Lead and Create Like An Owner® will be more fulfilled and productive, he originated the Like An Owner® platform. His mission is to challenge and empower leaders, teams and organizations to reach for Greatness.

Creating an Event Experience
Megan Denhardt, CAE, President, The Denhardt Group
No longer can organizations lather, rinse & repeat the same static event year after year. The challenge with the tired status quo is that learners demand more, members expect more and the competition for their time and attention is ever-increasing. Today’s attendees want dynamic learning experiences where they can interact with experts and engage with content that sparks their curiosity and satisfies their craving to explore what matters to them most.

It can be a challenge to meet all these new expectations while meeting the old expectation of staging a profitable event. Associations can create meaningful moments and exceptional experiences at their events – turning a first time attendee into a life-long one. Taking lessons from innovative companies, successful association events and risk-taking entrepreneurs, attendees will explore:

• Unique learning formats you can use to replace tired “sage from the stage” and panel discussions
• Tips (and tricks!) for selecting speakers and preparing them to engage with their audience
• Tactics for revitalizing your conference event—and improving those satisfaction ratings
• Conference design strategies that position your event as a must-attend
• Real-world examples of what’s driving success for today’s most successful conferences

Megan, President of The Denhardt Group, has 13 years of experience in developing and managing face-to-face and online educational programs, conferences and events in all shapes and sizes. Her dedication to creating exceptional and memorable experiences for her clients and their constituents is what sets her apart. Megan has enormous energy and enthusiasm for delivering high-level content in engaging ways that keep participants tuned-in. She coaches organizations on how to create and deliver meaningful educational content, implement unique conferences and events, and design quality programs, that keep attendees engaged and foster relationship building.

Golf
This scramble-style tournament takes place on the beautiful Lee Trevino Course at Geneva National. Enjoy 18 holes with cart and lots of fun along the way!

The Trevino Course is sprawled across the rolling Wisconsin countryside. Challenging for the seasoned golfer, yet forgiving to the beginner, Trevino offers a memorable round of golf as players find themselves immersed in the picturesque forests of the Geneva National community. This course plays to Mr. Trevino’s natural fade and features subtle dog-leg right holes on nearly every Par 4 & 5. Trevino has signed his name to only a handful of courses, and Geneva National's is one to experience.
